Alternative Living Group (ALG) is a non-profit community-based organization. With goals to enhance the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community by providing supportive services to them and their families, to develop mechanisms to reach out to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need such services, with a special emphasis on reaching persons who have traditionally not accessed services and are living in underserved communities, to empower persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities to become fully participating members in integrated community living, and to be a catalyst, fostering individual growth for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the provision of individual and family support services. All funds donated by Lia will be used to give a one-shot stipend to 20 Direct Care Professionals.  These staff are the working poor and who have been at the forefront of the pandemic providing care to the state’s most vulnerable people. 

Lia Nissan of Colonie and Lia Infiniti donated and presented a check to the Alternative Living Group totaling $2,000 on February 14, 2022. “ALG has been a valued customer of Lia for many years and we are so happy to be able to give back” said Michael Lia, Co-Owner of the Lia Auto Group.
