The Giving Circle is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2006 in Saratoga Springs New York. Its mission is to match needs within the human community with those who can fulfill them in a spirit of giving, cooperation, and support. Through the concentrated efforts of volunteer crews who offer their time and resources, The Giving Circle has focused on repairing and rebuilding homes and communities ravaged by storms such as Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita, or damaging floods in the Southern Tier of New York in 2006. When the city of Waveland, MS was devastated by Katrina in 2005, The Giving Tree offered assistance with rebuilding and repairs that hastened the recovery for many families within this community. As part of their fundraising efforts, the group sponsors the annual Waveland Wellness Festival and the Saratoga Springs Mardi Gras Festival, raising money and awareness for those in need. In addition to fundraising, The Giving Circle educates the public on what its most pressing needs are, and how the beneficiaries of its efforts progress.
Lia donated gifts and toys this holiday season to help out the kids in the community that are in need. “We are very happy to be a part of this organization by supporting efforts during the holiday season when families in need could use the help most”, said Chris Bucher, General Manager, Lia Nissan of Saratoga.
