Things of my Very Own

Things of My Very Own, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides crisis intervention services to children impacted by extensive abuse and/or neglect and at-risk of a Child Protective Services intervention. Our goal is to keep children together with non-abusive family members and out of the foster care system, whenever possible. The transition out of an abusive situation is often sudden and unexpected. Rarely is a child able to return home to retrieve belongings prior to their move. Things of My Very Own, Inc. recognizes the need for children to have basic necessities and things of their very own as soon as possible, so they can begin their healing process. Since its founding in 2008, Things of My Very Own, Inc. has provided more than 51,000 units of service to children across 11 counties in New York’s Capital Region and surrounding communities. Founded by Rayn Boncie, herself a survivor of abuse, Things of My Very Own, Inc. has become a national model for children’s crisis intervention services.

Lia Toyota of Colonie and Lia CJDR donated $1,000 each for a total of $2,000. “We are so proud to support this organization, especially during the holiday season. Domestic violence can not be tolerated and we are happy to help towards the end of it” said Chris Snyder, General Manager, Lia CJDR.
