The Comfort Zone Ministry is an outreach program of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies of Charity of Montgomery County. Their purpose is to provide selfcare items to people in need in the Greater Amsterdam community, such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue and cleaning supplies and diapers and feminine care items upon request. These items as well as other non-food donations are distributed once a month outside the Parish House. Many of these items cannot be purchased using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Lia Nissan of Colonie donated $2,500 and presented the check to the organization at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on January 25th, 2022. “This donation means so much to me as it is located in my hometown and family members volunteer there. We are so proud to be able to give back to the community”, said Dave Bertuch, General Manager.
